Welcome to Rideau Roxboro
Two of the most picturesque communities in Calgary, Rideau and Roxboro – Rideau to the West of 4th street just over the bridge to the South of Mission and Roxboro to the East of 4th street are coveted for their close proximity to the mission district, downtown and the proximity encased within the Elbow River. There is a beautiful tree covered canopy park with outdoor skating rink in the Eastern most part of Roxboro. Beautiful mature trees and large lots are common. This is a RC-1 zoned neighbourhood meaning single family dwellings only. Both Roxboro Road and Rideau Road are the closest to the river and feature some breathtaking custom homes on the banks of the river. A blessing and a curse, this neighbourhoods close proximity to the river means that most of its homes were flooded in the devastating 2013 Calgary Floods. There were pockets that were spared but the Calgary interactive flood map give a precise representation of which homes were impacted – and would be worthwhile checking if these neighbourhoods are high on the list.
